Copper Circuit-Tree

Available $32,000.

Wall mounted: 66" tall x 50" wide x 8" deep
Leaves are made from e-waste circuit boards that are stripped to bare copper, then metallic patinas are applied. Pop-rivited to branches of copper plumbing pipe and ribbed base-board heater parts. A brass hose bib has been added for good measure. Tree trunk is sculpted with aluminum flex conduit and a large stainless steel nut, which emulates the knot. An antique gas valve hints of the carbon cycle and methane emissions of composting vegetation. Ground cover includes 3 light fixtures with operating bulbs ( 110 volt plug-in ) and the mosses are made from steel wool scrubber pads. The topsoil is a non-woven floor polishing pad and the 1st layer of clay subsoil is faux ostrich leather. The 2nd is the sanding belt used in the construction of this sculpture, with deeper rock layers of computer motherboards. Tree roots begin with 3-phase electrical fittings, stainless braided cable and grounded metal wires that are cross linked to Computer power supplies. Framed by a carved wooden molding with hardwood corner blocks. There's more to the list ... but you get the point.
A system of circuits performing a particular function in an integrated environment. These networks are crucial for maintaining a balanced ecosystem and minimizing waste. This unique sculpture uses RECLAIMED components to fully illustrate the inter-connectivity of a healthy system.
